How old is the child?

Under 3 months of age, acetaminophen should only be given under a doctor’s supervision.

Example: 1 year = 12 months · 3 years = 36 months · 5 years = 60 months · 10 years = 120 months

How much does the child weigh?

Weight is more precise than age. If unsure, weigh the child before giving the dose.

Example: 5 kg · 8 kg · 12 kg · 18 kg · 25 kg · 35 kg

Which acetaminophen concentration?

Check the box or label. Different concentrations have different SmPC age/weight indications.

Brand names in Serbia (ALIMS-registered): Panadol Baby, Febricet, Paracetamol (generic). SmPC indication: children from 3 months / 5 kg upward.

💧 Acetaminophen oral solution 30 mg / mL (= 150 mg/5 mL)
Brand names in Serbia (ALIMS-registered): Efferalgan oral solution. SmPC indication: children from 2 months / 4 kg up to 32 kg (12 years).

Important: This calculator is informational and based on ALIMS SmPC documents and pediatric guidelines (10 mg/kg per dose, max 60 mg/kg per day, but no more than 4 g total). It does not replace consultation with a pediatrician. Consult a doctor if: the child is under 3 months old, weighs less than 4 kg, has a chronic illness (liver, kidney, dehydration), or takes other medications containing acetaminophen (combination cold/flu products).
